Monday Morning Roundtable: Falling forward
This week, the Heave staff was asked:
It was pretty damn cold in Chicago this past weekend, enough so that it felt like fall. What fall activity are you most eagerly anticipating this year and why?
Eating a goddamn orchard’s worth of honeycrisp apples.
Halloween, because it’s probably the only holiday that gets even more magical the older I get.
moving…TO A BIGGER HOUSE! Oops, I said the loud part quiet and the quiet part loud.
I really love the pumpkin patches and corn mazes that pop up in the northern suburbs in the fall. Definitely looking forward to those!
I am not ready for fall at all. The cold weather over the weekend kind of put me into panic mode because it feels like summer just started. I always look forward to going apple picking, carving pumpkins, and having a huge bonfire with my family, but “eagerly anticipating” is the wrong phrase right now. I will be much more excited about these things after we get a few more days of 90 degree weather.
Because I nerd out hardcore over box office and awards season prognostications, I always look forward to the end of the moviegoing year. You get a delightful mixture of legitimately great movies and movies that collapse under the weight of their attempts at greatness. Either way, they’re engaging to watch. I’m also looking forward to having the opportunity to BEAR DOWN once again. Seriously, the Cubs are ass this year and I miss football a lot.
